J.P. Sheets - Director & Lead Instructor

Mr. Sheets started the Colorado Institute of Bail Enforcement in late 2003 while on medical leave from the U.S. Marine Corps.  After spending some time as a Recovery Agent in Colorado, he noticed a need for quality training in the Bail Recovery industry in the State.  At the time, there were a handful of courses available to get your certification as a Bail Recovery Agent in the State of Colorado, yet in his opinion, they offered sub-par training since they were primarily for those pursuing a career as a Bail Bondsman.

J.P. Sheets, with his experience from the Marine Corps and as a successful Recovery Agent, developed a new training standard based on the requirements and outline developed by the Colorado Police Officers Standard and Training Board (P.O.S.T) and the Colorado Division of Insurance.

Mr. Sheets has over 10 years experience in military, law enforcement and investigations.  During this time he served in the United States Marine Corps, worked with several Private Military Companies (P.M.C) and Private Contract Security Firms.  He has worked as a Contract Bodyguard and Security Consultant for various Executives, Attorneys and Court Services Firms.  Mr. Sheets has also been working as a Bail Recovery Agent in Colorado since 2001 and has developed a very successful reputation in the industry.

In 2008, Mr. Sheets merged all three of his companies - Elite Protection Service, Colorado Institute of Bail Enforcement and Investigative Security Service - to form one premier security, investigative and training services company; Praetorian Services Group, LLC.

J.P. Sheets is an instructor in Jujitsu, Judo and Mixed Martial Arts.  He was a designated Marksmanship Instructor in the Marine Corps, Firearms and Tactical Instructor with various P.M.C's and a P.P.C.T Instructor with a Private Security Firm.  Mr. Sheets is a Certified Process Server, Certified Private Investigator and one of a handful of approved Bail Recovery Agent Course Providers for the State of Colorado.

Currently, J.P. Sheets is finishing his training to receive his professional credentials as a Certified Protection Specialist (C.P.S) and Certified Special Operations Protection Specialist (C.S.O.P.S) from the top Executive Protection Schools in the United States.  He has also attended many courses offered by Strike Ranch in Texas, FrontSight in Nevada and The Talon Group in Florida.  Mr. Sheets has easily logged over 9,000 hours of training to become a more qualified and skilled professional.

Mr. Sheets is the Lead Instructor on all courses offered by the Colorado Institute of Bail Enforcement and the Praetorian Services Group Training Division including the Colorado Bail Recovery Agent Certification Course, Arrest Control/Defensive Tactics Course, Colorado Concealed Handgun Course (CCW) and the Less Lethal Weapons Course (Taser & Pepperspray Certification).
